Checking My Attitude

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Philippians 3:3-7

Do do something good from genuine motives feels really good and it inspires others. Jesus is the most inspirational person in history- His motives were pure and He maintained an attitude of humility. We should do the same, especially since we are called by His name (Christian)!

I tend to look out for my own interests pretty well. But looking out for the interests of others is what sets us apart.

Am I ‘grasping’ some position, possession, or popularity that is holding me back from serving God and others? If so, what is it? Can I let it go?

God, help me be more mindful that ever before of others and their deep needs. Make my prayers richer as I understand and intercede for people You love. I am checking my attitude with You… fix any part that needs it.
