Paul, called as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:1-3,9,24,26.
God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. v9
But to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. v24
For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble. v26
How great is it to be invited to a party, special event, or cause? That’s what God did, he called us… both in a vocal sense and also in an invitation sense. The apostle Paul was called to his unique apostleship, we as believers are called into fellowship with God the Son, who is the power of God and the wisdom of God. All of this was according to His grace, not our wisdom, might or nobility.
Have I fully answered the call of God in my life? Am I humble in recognizing it was His doing, not my own?
God, what a gorgeous day that has begun. I thank Your for your wonderful calling to salvation and a life fulfilling Your great purposes. Help me know and sense each hour of they day what You would have me do, say, and become. I accept the call You have on my life, knowing its by grace that I am saved, and that I walk with the Son of God leading me along.
