I know your deeds, and your love and faith and service and perseverance, and that your deeds of late are greater than at first. But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. Revelations 2:19-20
The church in Thyatira received four commendations. They were motivated by love, demonstrated faith and service with perseverance. All of this was growing. There was an area of compromise. They tolerated Jezebel (whatever her doctrine was), they were led astray into immorality and idolatry. These stumbling blocks are everywhere in today’s culture.
Am I keeping myself from immorality and idolatry? Are my good deeds growing?
Lord, You are gracious. Thank you for the life You have have. Help me avoid teachings of the Jezebel’s today and instead to live a life of devotion and good deeds.
