Many years ago I heard pastor Greg Laurie refer to the condescension of Jesus, leaving heaven and Divine prerogatives, and coming to mankind. He said imagine you had an ant farm and you wanted to communicate and relate to the ants between the two pieces of glass. So, you turn yourself into an ant to do just that… knowing that they would rebel against you. That’s the attitude Jesus had and we should too. He humbled Himself (an understatement). And thank God He did.
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Ephesians 2:6-8 NASB
Am I trying to hold onto position, advantage, or popularity instead of serving others in a humble way?
God, as this day begins- what a reminder that I signed up to be Your servant and in doing so, became the servant of all others. Thank you for the grandcuties who spent the night last night and the swim party with them all yesterday. You are gracious and good. And my lovely wife and I are blessed.
