Who hasn’t wonder what happens next? I mean, after this life is over,… what happens next. Is there a life beyond this one? Yes, there really is and the authority of the Universe said so (Jesus). “I am going to prepare a place for you”. Now, there is plenty of mystery about what it will be like. The Apostle Paul wanted to comfort the believers in Thessaloniki, so he assured them… when Jesus returns to the earth, those who have died (fallen asleep- is his metaphor), will be with Him, and believer who is still alive, will join Jesus in the air. Hmmm. What an amazing way to start what comes next!
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore, comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 NASB
How ready am I for the second coming of Jesus? Have I prepared a place in my heart for Jesus here and now, so that He will prepare a place for me, then and there?
God, as this day continues- I am grateful for the Son of the Living God- Jesus! As Christmas and the holidays approach, I will remind myself that He has prepared a place for me so that I can be part of what comes next!
