Adequate Revelation

Certainly there have been flawed people in Christian leadership who have tarnished the perception people have of Christianity and God. But, that doesn’t excuse anyone. I came to Christ because of the consistent reflection of the light of the Lord in my friend, not his perfection. And he was bold enough to tell me the story of Jesus, His life and message. One day, I accepted that message and committed to follow Him. Beyond all that, nature was proclaiming the existence of a loving God. I could discern goodness and evil, sin and love, and see all around me the evidence of a creator. What I was missing was the answers to what it all meant. I found that in the teachings and example of Jesus. God never appeared to me visually. But, he certainly revealed Himself to me in a more than deserved manner.

Now as the crowds were increasing, He began to say, “This generation is a wicked generation; it demands a sign, and so no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.  For just as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will the Son of Man be to this generation.  The Queen of the South will rise up with the men of this generation at the judgment and condemn them, because she came from the ends of the earth to listen to the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here. The men of Nineveh will stand up with this generation at the judgment and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, something greater than Jonah is here. Luke 11:29-32 NASB

How? And to whom, am I to serve as a revelation of God? What in my life impairs that message from shining forth?

God, as this day begins- I have the privilege of speaking and preaching Your Word. Would you help my walk, match my talk. Oh, and I thank you for such a wonderful Christmas with the kids and grandkids. My wife is extraordinary- she made it all so good. I think You know that!
