Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaint. As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Someone asked me about the level of joy I display… and why I seem happy. First of all, I think its just a fortunate temperament that I received from God. For that I am grateful. But, beyond that… I wake up each day with simple but profound purpose. The apostle Peter swerved into what I try to do each day. He said, above all, make sure love is both the source and goal of my actions. Be hospitable (friendly enough to let someone open your fridge). And if you’ve been given gifts, use them for the sake of others and as expressions of God’s grace. Specifically, if you speak (edify others) do it as if God is speaking through you. If you server, don’t do it on human strength alone, so that God is glorified and not we, ourselves. Now that’s a reason to get up every day! Whose with me?
Am I content to give God the glory in all things? Am I letting the Spirit of God amplify my gifts?
God, as this day begins- I thank you that with our without talent or giftedness, I can always LOVE. Fill me to overflow with Your great love for people and I will serve as You provide the strength. Let’s go make an eternal difference in someone’s life today.
