A Guardian For My Soul

For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. 1 Peter 2:21-25

Happy Easter! Jesus is my example in all things. There really has never been anyone like Him. He uniquely bore the penalty for my sins upon the cross. Now I have the ability to live righteously. The wounds He suffered were for my spiritual, emotional and physical infirmities. When I go astray, He seeks me out as the great and merciful Shepherd of my soul. For all of this I am blessed beyond measure.

When did Jesus first resurrect my heart and soul? How will I celebrate the greatest event in history?

God, as this day begins- I am remembering that Jesus rose from the dead that Sunday morning. That single event changed all of history and me as well. May I celebrate Him, His life, and the purpose for which I now live. He is risen, indeed.
