The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:23-25
I love being a pastor and helping people find the ‘door’ that leads to God. Putting someone’s hand on the door knob and encouraging them to open and go inside, is highly satisfying. But, I also have a pastor/priest- Jesus Himself. He paid the penalty for sin, once for all. Now, He intercedes for me with God the Father through prayer. That’s powerful, because I can live free of guilt, shame and impending judgment and at the same time, bring my cares, fears, and needs before a loving God with power to change any circumstance.
How have I fully appropriated and appreciated what I have in Christ? Who could I introduce to Jesus, so they too could have a personal pastor/priest?
God, as this day begins- Thank you that You have been disclosing to us how to deal with the virus affecting the whole world. Reveal through scientists a cure, please. Protect our older adults and young children with immuno-deficiencies. Use me and others who have no fear, to help others practically and spiritually. Bring this to an end surprisingly soon… for Your glory.
