When you become a Christian, you enter into a spiritual kingdom that has its manifestation through the people of God. It is a kingdom with the goal of each person Spirit led, living a life pleasing to the Lord Jesus, with good works, as we grow in the grace and knowledge of God. Power, might, endurance patience and joy mark our lives. In his letter to the believers in Colossae who had come to understand the gospel through the preaching and teaching of Epaphras, Paul described what this life is like in the kingdom of God (‘the Son he loves’).
We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:9-14 NASB
How is my participation in the kingdom of God evident? What good works has God marked out for me?
God, as this day begins- I am thankful to be included and invited into this marvelous kingdom. May I be pleasing to You. What a wonderful day ahead as I enjoy the fellowship of this wonderful family.
