I will always be grateful for a handful of people who are instrumental in m spiritual growth as a Christian. Of course, I am eternally grateful to my “brother” and faithful friend Todd Collins, who led me to Christ and discipled me in the early days. Then there was Chuck Booher and after that Tony Allmoslecher who are both like “fathers” in the faith (ok, perhaps older brothrs, Lol). The apostle Paul was right, we may have many tutors, but not that many fathers in the faith. Let’s thank God for them!
To this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and are poorly clothed, and are roughly treated, and are homeless; and we toil, working with our own hands; when we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure; when we are slandered, we try to conciliate; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now. I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. 1 Corinthians 4:11-15 NASB
Who has made a significant difference in my life? How am I a “father” in the faith to others?
God, as this day begins- I ask a great earthly blessing on those I have counted as precious and appreciated in my life. Meet their deepest needs. Reveal to me whom you have placed in my circle of influence as “sons”. I thank You that I have Kai, Keanu, Kaenan and Eden as biological children. May I be sufficient as a spiritual father as well.
