How can we understand God’s working in the world today? We must be guided and instructed by the Spirit of God who illuminates the Bible. How profoundly stunning it must have been for the Apostle Paul to recognize and articulate God’s unfolding plan of salvation. Nearly everything he once thought and taught about “Christ”, Israel’s role, the Roman government, the Patriarchs, Prophets, Moses, was incomplete or wrong. But, when He encountered Jesus- he opened his mind and heart to the Holy Spirit of God who taught him clearly what was happening in his day and what was to come. God’s plan was largely concealed from rulers and those in power, but available to the humble person beating his own chest shouting ‘forgive me, a sinner’. Paul called himself the ‘chief of sinners’, perhaps that recognition afforded him such understanding of God’s revelation
However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. 2 Corinthians 9-10 NIV
What is God doing in the world today? What is my role in it?
God, as this day begins- help me reach out and love people in Your name. I want to fulfill Your will and to do it in Jesus’ way. Is there a need? Shall I fill it. Its there a hurt? Shall I heal it? Holy Spirit, I am open to Your leading and guiding.
