I have been fortunate in this life to have not suffered greatly with disease or injury or incapacity. I pray often for others who do. While, I am not without imperfection, weaknesses, and afflictions, I have a supernatural source of strength, healing, and encouragement. Immediately after the sermon on the mount, Jesus touched a leper and healed him, declared a centurion’s servant healed from a distance and removed the fever from Peter’s mother. In summary, the Bible says that Jesus fulfilled the ancient prophecy of Isaiah. He laid hold of that which held people down or back from fulfilling God’s purpose (infirmities) and He carried them away. With our sicknesses (disease), He healed and bore them in Himself. He does the same today!

When Jesus came into Peter’s home, He saw his mother-in-law lying sick in bed with a fever. And He touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she got up and waited on Him. Now when evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed; and He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were ill. This happened so that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled: “He Himself took our illnesses (infirmities) and carried away our diseases (sicknesses). Matthew 8:14-17 NASB

What is holding me back that Jesus could remove and carry away so that I might fulfill His purposes in the world? What disease or sickness could I be used by Him to heal in others?

God, as this day begins- I am fortunate and grateful for the life You’ve afforded. May I be an instrument of the healing in the world today.
