I feel very fortunate to have really wonderful people in my life (my wife, children, grand-cuties, and friends). They make my life fun, filled with purpose, and love. Relationship are built on trust. We were made by God to be connected to others emotionally and practically- meeting one another’s needs in a mutual manner. Nothing tears down and destroy that beautiful reality faster than stealing or lying. In Zechariah’s vision and encounter with an angel, he hears that a curse is ‘over the whole land’ because people were ripping one another off and lying (even in the name of the Lord) to one another. The people of God were destroying what He was building. They certainly were not loving one another. In God’s kingdom, one day these sins and others will outside and not permitted. (Rev 22:15)

And he said to me, “This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished. The Lord Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.’” Zechariah 5:3-4 NIV

Is there anyone I have taken from? Have I told the whole truth to the people in my life?

God, as this day begins- what a beautiful reminder of what really matters- people! Its true that the only thing that really matters is my faith expressing itself in love with those around me. I look ahead to the interactions and appointments. Please help me fulfill what is required of me in a gracious and wonderful way. May truth be a necklace around my neck and love never leave me in my relationships.
