Seeking The Savior

magiNow after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.” Matthew 2:1-2

Following the birth of Jesus, visitors arrive and worship the young child and present his parents with gifts. They traveled a great distance seeking for Him. Its fascinating that the magi from the east were more in tune and aware of the arrival than even the Jews in Jerusalem who studied the scriptures regularly. They largely missed the arrival of their king. Of course, not all did. But, its a wonderful reminder to me to look for the Savior in the midst of this Christmas season. Jesus promises each of us “seek and you will find”!

What am I allowing to garner my attentions in a greater way than Jesus? How can my life reflect a heart of worship today and throughout this month focusing on the Savior who has come into the world?

God, I am looking forward to celebrating in my heart all that Christmas reveals about Your great love expressed in the Savior of the World.
