For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. And if the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.
If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired. If they were all one member, where would the body be? But now there are many members, but one body. 1 Corinthians 12:14-20
Every Christian is part of the body of Christ. Even if they don’t feel like they are (especially when comparing themselves with the spiritual gifts of others), they still remain an integral part of God’s plan. Discovering our unique role within His kingdom and church is imperative. Some are merely content to attend a weekend worship service, while they miss out on how they could love people in Jesus name and with their God-given spiritual gifts. How incredible it is when people discover how God made them and the way to serve others in the body of Christ… their joy goes to a whole new level.
What’s my role and what gifts has God given me? Am I available and using my gifts for His glory in the body of Christ?
Lord, thank you for assisting me yesterday in some significant ways. I am so grateful to see the projects moving forward. Today has so much ahead, I am grateful to spend this time seeking You and Your ways. Thank you for the reminder that I have a place in Your “body”, the church. Help each of my children know their place as well.
