I wake up happy. (Most days- lol). I walk out into the backyard with coffee cup in hand and water my garden, pray a bit, and prepare to read the Bible and pray a bit more. That’s nice for me. There is a new day coming according to the Bible when Jesus returns to establish an earthly kingdom. Zechariah the prophet described it as cataclysmic inasmuch as Jesus defeats the enemies of God. But, then… a new day dawns that is fascinating. It has the hint that all in nature is restored or being restored from Him and His throne. Christians refer to this coming season as the “Millennium” or 1,000 year reign. I am looking forward to it,… as we are reunited with all loved ones in Christ to enjoy the earth together before new heavens and earth are made.
On that day there will be neither sunlight nor cold, frosty darkness. It will be a unique day—a day known only to the Lord—with no distinction between day and night. When evening comes, there will be light. On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it east to the Dead Sea and half of it west to the Mediterranean Sea, in summer and in winter. The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name. Zechariah 14:6-8 NIV
I wonder what God has planned for those who love Him? As good as this earth and life are… the one to come is even better!
God, as this day begins- I pray that I might be an encouragement to the Edward family as they celebrate the life of Danny. Please reduce the pain that Carol is experiencing in her abdomen and return her home from hospital with her granddaughter. Thank you the day that will one day dawn when all pain and suffering will cease. Until then, may I be part of Your redemptive and compassionate work in the world.
