Cornerstone

What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith; but Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law. Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone, just as it is written, “BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” Romans 9:30-33

God’s amazing plan of salvation has unfolded to include all who by faith believe in Jesus Christ. He is the stone of stumbling for some and the chief cornerstone for people like me who have build our life upon Him.

Have I come to that place in my life where, apart from any good works, I have simple and humbly said “Jesus, what You did on the cross was for me. Forgive me, cleanse me, make me alive and make me new. I commit my life to You!”? Long ago I prayed that prayer and I continue to live by it.

Lord Jesus, I am so grateful for the life You lived, the death You died on my behalf, and the resurrection power You make available to me. Amazing and incredible, that’s what You are. May I walk today in obedience and heigtened expectation that You will work miracles around me and through me. You are my cornerstone.
