Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
“Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.
Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” Revelation 19:6-9
I was talking to mother about her daughter’s wedding that is coming in a couple weeks. There was a whole lot of excitement and yet, some uncertainty about getting all the preparations ready. I know that many brides experience stress at these times too. Believer in Jesus Christ are collectively likened to a bride who will be wed to Jesus Christ, the bridegroom. Ironically, Jesus said “I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am, you may be also”. Aren’t you glad that He is preparing the wedding ceremony, banquet, etc. We are to prepare by clothing ourselves with faith and Christ-like character.
Am I anticipating the wedding supper of the Lamb? I am.
Lord Jesus, thank you that I will be one of the multitude roaring “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.” May I be found in You, righteous, and clothed in white linen. I have been stressing about many things this week. Would you help me see again, that its really You doing what needs to be done for eternity? I am grateful for the miracle and generosity you showed me today. You know my recent prayers… about salvation for others. Please move on hearts. Help me speak for You.
