For this is like the days of Noah to Me, when I swore that the waters of Noah would not flood the earth again;
So I have sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor will I rebuke you.
“For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” says the Lord who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:9-10
When it seems like God is destroying mountains around us and the hills shake, remember that His love remains and will not be removed. God will keep his covenant of peace, even the one He made to Noah. There are times when God’s judgment or discipline is enacted in our lives, it can feel big and overwhelming. Isaiah reminds us that its always born out of love and tempered with compassion. In a sense, God assuages His own anger with the compassion of a father.
Do I keep my heart and mind tuned to the reality of God’s love? Do circumstances around me change my trust in God?
Lord God, I thank You that Your mercies are new every morning and great is your faithfulness. Would you use the efforts I make, especially early this morning to grow Your kingdom. Thank you that my friend Rick Willison is back in Corona!
