Then Moses said, “What if they will not believe me or listen to what I say? For they may say, ‘The Lord has not appeared to you.’” The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” And he said, “A staff.” Then He said, “Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it. But the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand and grasp it by its tail”—so he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand— “that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”
God’s answer to Moses doubts was “look what I have already given you”. What’s in your hand? God worked a miracle through the common things He had already provided. What Moses needed to do was see that the mighty God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was ready to fulfill his promise and use Moses to do it. How often we miss that God has already put what is needed within our grasp.
This is what happens to me too. How much has God put within my grasp to accomplish His wonderful plans? Do I see it? Are there people and resources that are part of His divine answer to the opportunities, obstacles and plans ahead? Yes!
Lord help me see what You see. God, do the mighty miracles of yesterday, today. Do them in me, through me and with that which is in my hand.
