Now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good? Deuteronomy 10:12-13
God requires us to reciprocate His love. That looks like fear, obedience (walking in His ways), and to love Him. Behind it all is a personal God who wants a love relationship. Micah 6:8 says ‘he has shown thee, oh man, what is good and what the Lord requires of thee. But to do justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God’.
Have I entered into that love relationship with God? How do I show God I fear and respect Him?
Lord, this has been your covenant from the beginning. Thank you for saving me and inviting me to know You.
