Now, O Lord God, Your promise to my father David is fulfilled, for You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth. Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this great people of Yours?”
God said to Solomon, “Because you had this in mind, and did not ask for riches, wealth or honor, or the life of those who hate you, nor have you even asked for long life, but you have asked for yourself wisdom and knowledge that you may rule My people over whom I have made you king, wisdom and knowledge have been granted to you. And I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings who were before you has possessed nor those who will come after you.”
So Solomon went from the high place which was at Gibeon, from the tent of meeting, to Jerusalem, and he reigned over Israel. 2 Chronicles 1:8-13
The Bible says ‘eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered the imagination of man, what God has for those who love Him’ 1 Corinthians 2:9 Could Solomon have imagined what God had for him? Solomon expressed his love for God by desiring to serve the people of God’s affection. God honored the request – big time!
How about me? How am I expressing my love for God? Is my life beyond imagination as I discover what God has for me?
Lord Jesus, today may I walk close with You. I want to start my day thanking you for the wonderful adventure my life has been so far. Following You, Your will, and Your ways has led me on a journey of faith and excitement and blessing that really is beyond what I imagined. May today be a continuation.
