“Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” After laying His hands on them, He departed from there.” Matthew 19:13-15
We are always getting it wrong with each other. Jesus tells the Pharisees, “keep your wives and stop sending them away”. The disciples tell the kids to stay away from Jesus. He says “let them come”. Jesus tells the rich, young ruler to “sell it all and come follow me”… and he walks the other direction. We truly are lost and in need of a Shepherd.
How about me? Am I coming to my Master when He calls? Am I in step with what he is doing. Am I being led by His indwelling Spirit? More and more each day.
Lord Jesus, I want to be in step with you. When you call I want to answer in a godly way. When you say come, I want to already be there with You. Train me to hear your voice.
