trustThus the Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore. When Israel saw the great power which the Lord had used against the Egyptians, the people feared the Lord, and they believed in the Lord and in His servant Moses. Exodus 14:30-31

God miraculously delivered the Israelites by drying up the Red Sea and making an escape for them. As a result they trusted God and their leader Moses (at least for awhile). Its funny how fickle people are about trusting their leaders. One moment they see their faith in God honored as God fulfills a promise. Everyone rejoices. Then comes the waters of Marah (bitter times) and people forget the miracles and doubt their leaders.

How about me? Do I trust God and the leaders He has established? I do within the life of the church. I really struggle with political leaders.

God, my faith is in You first and foremost. Today I pray for myself and others who have responsibility for leading various ministries within the church. May we be faith filled and faithful and Lord, please give us the favor of Your people, help them trust You and the plans You have for us together.
