Then Naomi took the child and laid him in her lap, and became his nurse. The neighbor women gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi!” So they named him Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David. Ruth 4:16-17
The story of Ruth’s redemption is the a small way the story of our redemption. And quite literally, if she was not redeemed, the lineage leading to the birth of King David and ultimately Jesus, would have been broken. Again the scarlet thread of redemption was weaved in every day circumstances to result in the saving of mankind. Amazing!
Am I aware that the thinnest thread is important? Every conversation and expression of God’s love to another is a part of the great tapestry God is weaving to work in us and through us to save the world.
God, today I am ready to be directed by your Spirit in every conversation of the day. Let me be a blessing to all I meet. Work your eternal plans through me today.
