Now the Lord said to Abram,
Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you;
And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great;
And so you shall be a blessing; and I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse.
And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed. Genesis 12:1-3
People made fun of US President, George Bush, because he sometimes misspoke and said “strategery” when he meant strategy. Funny stuff. Many have made fun or discounted God’s strategy to redeem all of mankind, by starting with one man, who by faith, would “bless all families of the earth”. Abraham and his descendants would become God’s “chosen people” to evangelize the world. Ultimately, through Abraham’s lineage, the Messiah (Savior of the world) would come – Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. This is the fulfillment of the promise to Abraham. What’s so amazing is that at age 75+ Abraham still was without a child.
How am I blessed through Abraham? I received Jesus Christ by faith at age 18. I relate to God by faith. I have the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ. I believe God and He accounts it toward me as righteousness. I have the faith of Abraham.
God, I am so glad that Your strategy to save the world worked and it included me. I know You have given me a role to fulfill too. May I be found faithful. Use me today to share with others that the faith of Abraham can be embraced by anyone.
