Springtime Forever

springtime foreverBehold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!
It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard,
Even Aaron’s beard, coming down upon the edge of his robes.
It is like the dew of Hermon, coming down upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the Lord commanded the blessing—life forever. Psalm 133

Personally, I love summer. I like it hot. I like to go surfing. What’s your favorite season? Many love Springtime. For them, the greatest thing would be if it were Springtime forever. King David describes the feelings that fill his soul as he considers how pleasant life is when strife, anger and bitterness are replaced with unity. It has a sense of God’s anointing (the precious oil upon the head) and holiness (even Aaron the priest’s beard), and completeness (down upon the edge of his robe). It all begins with God, it flows from heaven (like the dew of mount Hermon, coming down upon Zion). This all leads to the ‘blessing life’, in Hebrew the words ‘berakah chay olam’ which paints the picture of Springtime forever!

Do I place the same value on unity? I mean, am I passionate and appreciative for my relationships with other believers to be right and free of any bitterness or strife?

God, I see how You desire this for us. Help me be aware of anyone I have offended and to make it right. Give me favor with people so that we might dwell together in unity. I am so glad this pleases You, and that it is pleasant for me.
