toy soldiersThen He said to me, “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them. For you are not being sent to a people of unintelligible speech or difficult language, but to the house of Israel, nor to many peoples of unintelligible speech or difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. But I have sent you to them who should listen to you; yet the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, since they are not willing to listen to Me. Surely the whole house of Israel is stubborn and obstinate. Ezekiel 3:4-7

God treated Israel and Judah like a beloved child. Their idolatry and unwillingness to repent brought judgement. Ezekiel continues to preach his message of repentance in a clear understandable way, but no one is willing to listen. They are stubborn and obstinate. None of us likes to have our sin pointed out. But, a believer, when corrected, turns from their sin and embraces what God has for them. The unbeliever usually responds by becoming stubborn and obstinate. C.S> Lewis wrote about people who were like obstinate toy soldiers that refuse to change and walk to an unnecessary death.

Am I stubborn and obstinate and clinging to a sin, a opinion, or position?

God, thank you that Your Word is plain and simple, not difficult language. Help me walk in Your ways today. Thank you for the blessing yesterday of hanging with childhood friends.
