As for those of you who may be left, I will also bring weakness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a driven leaf will chase them, and even when no one is pursuing they will flee as though from the sword, and they will fall. Leviticus 26:36
God warned His people that their courage would rise and fall with their obedience to Him. When they were obedient to follow His commands, laws and precepts, they could be as the proverb says “The righteous are bold as a lion”. But if they rejected His ways, they would experience difficulty as His hand of protection was removed from them. They would become vulnerable to their enemies and fearful as well.
Is this true of my life? It is. When I am right with God, I feel an inner peace and strength bordering on invincibility.
God, my life is in Your hands. I love Your commands and statues. Thank you that there is an inner peace that You placed in my heart. I am not afraid of the sound of a driven leaf.
