If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.
Rescue those who are being taken away to death;

My friend often challenged kids in his youth group with the question: What’s the opposite of “love”? They would of course say “hate”. He would correct them and say “apathy”. The longer I live, the more I see the truth in what he said. Too often, good men do little to correct the ills in the world. Will I shrink back and find my strength to be too small when the occasions of life require me to stand? Am I ignoring any problems or evil and failing to engage?
God, You are my strength, inside and out. I commit to champion and defend the defenseless for Your sake. Give me eyes to see what breaks Your heart and courage to address it even when adversity comes with it.
