Take Care!

Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end, Hebrews 3:12-14

A popular salutation when I was growing up was “Take Care!”. By it, we meant, be careful, don’t get hurt, do well, and be well, until we see each other again. The author of Hebrews said the same thing- specifically to ‘take care’ in these ways: keep a believing heart that is ever drawing closer to the living God; encourage others as much as possible before this life is over; so that we don’t get hardened by the deception of sin. In this way we become partakers (participants) in what it means to know the Savior. Keep doing this all the way to till the end of our lives. That’s what I mean when I say ‘Take Care!’

What is the condition of my heart today? Is there any evil unbelief within it? How as I encouraging others?

God as this day begins, may You work within my heart and all circumstances so that I might avoid the deceitfulness of sin and become an encouragement to many who might place their trust and faith in Jesus the Messiah?! I am committed to take care until the end. Thank you again for these few days of joy around the house. You certainly take care of me.
