Stimulate One Another

Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:22-25

It seems unfathomable, but I have full access to our holy, perfect and pure God. I can pray with full confidence and know that He hears me. Wow! All of this is His doing, not mine. He has washed me, sanctified me, and justified me. So what am to do with this wonderful privilege? I should think of ways to share the love of God that overflows from my life. And I should inspire others to receive the love of God and share it as well. As Galatians 6 says “the only thing that matters if faith expressing itself in love”. This will be more and more important as we see either the end of our own days draw near or the very end of the world as we know it.

Am I one who ‘stimulates’ love in others? Am I allowing the love of God to flow through my life to others? Am I approaching the throne of God with confidence?

God, as this day comes to an end- I thank you for Your great love and presence in my life. It’s undeserved, yet real. Its so good to be able to call upon You in a moment’s notice, to talk with You about the day’s events, and to anticipate what You have planned for tomorrow. May my life be defined by love received and shared freely for Your glory and praise.
