With All Purity

Do not sharply rebuke an older man, but rather appeal to him as a father, to the younger men as brothers, the older women as mothers, and the younger women as sisters, in all purity. 1 Timothy 5:1-2

Our friendships in the church become rather familiar. Knowing that, the apostle Paul advised Timothy to relate to people in the church as if they were part of his own family- being gentle with older men, and engaging others as if they too were family members. Why? Perhaps because he recognized, we are going to spend eternity together. That should remind us that patience, love and purity are always good guidelines.

How am I relating to others around me? Is purity a priority? Do I see others as ‘extended family members’?

God, as this day begins… there is so much ahead. Would you all me to represent You in some small ways and to be a blessing to others? As the 40 days of prayer and dedication begin, I am looking to You as the One who can provide breakthroughs.
