God’s Answer For The Doubting Heart

Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?” And He said, “Certainly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God at this mountain. Exodus 3:10=12

The answer God gave Moses for his feelings of doubt and inadequacy was the promise of His presence (“surely I will be with you”). I think I would be more of a ‘show me a sign’ guy. Later, Moses would get signs and miracles too. But, it is God’s presence that is promised to each of us who put our faith and trust in Christ. Jesus Himself said, I will be with you and in you. When we have a big mission ahead of us, we can take assurance that He will never leave us or forsake us.

How much do I rely upon signs and wonders to bolster my faith? Do I value the presence of God’s abiding Holy Spirit as much?

God, today I give you full access to my mind and heart. Please lead and guide me by the power and presence of Your Spirit. Your presence in my life is more valuable than the miracles… and I have seen You do miracles. Please help me do well in my exam tonight.
