Felix And Jesus

felixSeveral days later Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish. He sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus. As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.” At the same time he was hoping that Paul would offer him a bribe, so he sent for him frequently and talked with him. Acts 24:24-26

Felix was interested, but not committed. The Bible says he even understood ‘The Way’ (a nickname for the early Christian teachings and practices). But, Felix did not cross the line of faith by putting his trust in Jesus Christ. Its a sad commentary because he had access to the foremost teacher of his day, the apostle Paul. This reminds me that its not the sophistication of the presentation of the gospel that moves a heart, its the Spirit of God working when any individual hears the gospel. In this Christmas season, its my prayer that thousands of people in the Corona-Norco area will hear the gospel and the Spirit of God will move upon their hearts and they will cross the line of faith.

Am I faithfully sharing the message of Jesus? Is it apparent that I have put my trust in Him?

Lord Jesus, as we think about and celebrate Your miraculous birth, may the stories told, the songs sung, and the gospel preached, save thousands! Draw all men unto Yourself.
