Endure

For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory. It is a trustworthy statement:

For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
If we endure, we will also reign with Him;
If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:10-13

One of the most powerful expressions of God’s love is when His people endure difficulty, hardship or mistreatment for the sake of seeing others come to salvation. The apostle Paul was motivated inwardly by the desire that all God has chosen would obtain salvation and eternal glory. He endured shipwrecks, lonely nights, stoning, and imprisonment. What kept him going? You, me and others who had not yet heard the gospel. He was willing to endure, for His name’s sake.

What keeps me going? Is it the praise of men, or the satisfaction of knowing the kingdom of God has been extended to one more person?

God, as this day begins- I thank you for what’s ahead. I look forward to reaching out and loving someone in Your name and to extend the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. I pray all You choose will come to the knowledge of repentance and ultimately live with us in glory.
