Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:3-5
We are going to celebrate Easter this weekend and commemorate the greatest miracle in history, namely the resurrection of Jesus Christ! Look at what happened as a result. We can be born again (have a new nature), a living hope (our Savior is alive), and inheritance that will last forever (heaven and eternity in the presence of God with all that He has available to us as adopted children), protection by the power of God (the abiding presence of His Spirit in our lives and His superintending plan for our lives that He Himself unfolds). Now that’s worth celebrating this Easter!
How excited am I about the Lord? Do I fully comprehend what His resurrection accomplished?
Lord, You are worth celebrating every day… especially this weekend!
