Initiation

“For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:6-8

We never did anything worthy of God’s love. He loves us and likes us, because of His character, not ours. Amazing! Jesus said “no greater love has man than this, that one lay down his life for his friends”. Not idle speculation, because He did it.

Have I received this great love? Yes. I realize that what Jesus did on the cross, He did for me.

Lord Jesus, when I sing the lyrics to the song “I’ll never know how much it cost, to see my sin, upon the cross”, it often brings tears. I marvel that you initiated love. You were not reciprocating, but initiating. Oh thank you. May I now walk worthy of who you are and what you did. Amen.

p.s. Please draw my mom, brother, and the rest of the family into this wonderful relationship. May I see them respond on Baptism Sunday (Palm) and follow You in the waters of baptism.
