ice makerFrom the breath of God ice is made, and the expanse of the waters is frozen.
Also with moisture He loads the thick cloud; He disperses the cloud of His lightning.
It changes direction, turning around by His guidance, that it may do whatever He commands it on the face of the inhabited earth.
Whether for correction, or for His world, or for loving kindness, He causes it to happen. Job 37:10-13

Elihu tells Job that God is in control. He controls the snow, ice, thunder, and lightning. Moreover, God dispenses justice in the correction of people, His world, and loving kindness. In the same way God can change the direction of a cloud, he can change a circumstance. This is a wonderful reminder from a young man who knows much about God. Some of these words, God Himself will say to Job.

This is a good reminder for me too. While God’s timing is not always my timing, I can be assured that He is just and His correction is always motivated in love.
