These will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed—for our testimony to you was believed. 2 Thesssalonians 9-10
The Christians in Thessalonica were persecuted and afflicted to a great degree. They responded with a greater love and appreciation for one another. Paul reminded them that the people who rejected the gospel and caused the pain in the lives of believers would ultimately meet a horrible judgment described as eternal destruction and separation from God.
Knowing all this, is there any suffering I have avoided or complained about? Am I fervent for the salvation of all around me? Do I understand the cosmic battle that is raging even today?
Lord, Yes to all these. Gird me for battle and victory for Your name’s sake today.
