Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Then Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him, “My lord, listen to me; a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? So bury your dead.” Genesis 23:14-15

We have all heard the saying “Don’t sweat the small stuff”. Its good advice. And its all relative. Abraham and Ephron both understood that in comparison to life and death, even 400 shekels of silver was “small stuff”. Sarah’s death reminded everyone that relationships are what really matter.

How am I valuing the people in my life? Am I letting any “small stuff” harden my heart in any way? Are my prayers for those around me limited or do I have a growing desire to pray for the success of all around me?

God, thank you this morning for another reminder of what really matters. Would you move in my life to give me favor with those I interact with throughout the day?
