Distinction

distinctionThis is the law regarding the animal and the bird, and every living thing that moves in the waters and everything that swarms on the earth, to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the edible creature and the creature which is not to be eaten. Leviticus 11:46-47

God gave Moses various dietary laws and distinctions about which animals were to be considered clean and unclean, edible and prohibited. Why? By making distinction, the people of God would be distinct as well. They would stand out and be set apart, thus giving any of the peoples around them the opportunity to ask the ‘why’ question. The answer… the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob brought us up out of Egypt.

Is there enough distinction in the way I live my life, to make people inquisitive? What would I say is the reason for the difference?

Lord, I live my life according to Your Word and Jesus ways. Oh, I pray its distinct enough that many would ask for the reason for the hope that is in me. Then, I can lead them to You. May many come to a personal faith in Christ because I choose to live distinctly for You.
