The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts. Revelation 9:20-21
When the “woes” are released upon mankind with the fifth and sixth trumpets in John’s revelation, men do not respond well. God’s will is that all come to the knowledge of repentance and are saved. But, even after experiencing the wrath of God, those upon the earth at this future time, do not turn to Him. Instead they hunker down in the hardness of their heart and familiarity of their sin and will suffer for it. Amazing and sad.
How is my heart? Is it hard at times toward God and His desire to shape me? Am I quick to repent or slow?
God, I want to be a man with a pliable heart and willingness to admit when I am wrong and turn to go the right direction. Please move me moment by moment by the persuasion of the Holy Spirit so I will experience your grace and correction, but never your wrath.
