God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day. Genesis 1:16-18
A significant part of God’s creation is the sun and moon. So much of life is dependent upon them. The Bible says that God put them in the heavens to give light and to govern the day and night. They created a separation from darkness and that was good. God distinguished the difference between darkness and light.
It there the same distinction in my life? Do I discern the difference between light and darkness? Do I call light (that which comes from God), good?
As I read about the initial creation today, I am struck by Your amazing power and wisdom. Perhaps this is why whenever I am in the ocean snorkeling, or hiking a mountain trail or looking at a sunset, I sense You are close.
