But HE WHO BOASTS IS TO BOAST IN THE LORD. For it is not he who commends himself that is approved, but he whom the Lord commends. 2 Corinthians 10:18
The Bible warns about pride. One antidote is to boast only in the Lord. That means to boast only about the things that really matter and to give credit to God.
This is difficult for me. I am in partnership with God and often used by Him for small spiritual victories i the lives of others. I must remember to give God the credit and refrain from accepting the praise of men, without first being commended by the Lord.
God, thank you for the privilege of serving the body of Christ. I praise You for the joy of helping others grow in Christ.
