How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who announces peace and brings good news of happiness,
Who announces salvation, and says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7
In this declaration of God’s soon deliverance, Isaiah recognizes how wonderful it will be for those to hear the good news.
This is of course descriptive of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. How lovely on the mountains are the feet of Him who has brought mankind the good news, announcing news of happiness, that our God reigns! In this way, the prophecy has a dual fulfillment both in Isaiah’s time and the first century as well.
How am I carrying on the ministry and message of Christ today? Am I giving the good news to everyone who so desperately need it?
God, what a privilege to have received and embraced the good news found in Jesus, and now to share it with others. Give me a voice and platform to do it with grace and humility. I confidently say today… Our God reigns!
