Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. Romans 16:17
The Bible warns about people in the church who cause dissensions and slow down the making of disciples. They bring in teaching contrary to the gospel. As a shepherd, it is necessary at times to use the rod and correct them or remove them. Its a less than fun responsibility of a Christian leader.
Is there anyone who is causing dissension right now in my area of ministry? Is there any contrary teaching? I believe a good amount of this has been removed. But, it will be a ongoing excercise of authority.
God, give me a watchful eye and courage to confront when necessary. I praise You for the grace given me.
