A Proper Perspective

perspectiveSo, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Revelation 3:16-18

Sometimes our assessment of situations and even ourselves is inaccurate. We need God to reveal His perspective which is truth. The believers in Laodicea were half-hearted and lukewarm. They thought of themselves in terms of material prosperity and missed their spiritual poverty. The message from the angel is to become truly rich in God, with all purity, and begin to see yourself and others from God’s perspective.

How do I see myself? How does God? How do I see the world? How does God?

Oh Lord reconcile my mind, heart, soul to Yours. I want to see You first and then see as You do. Give me a proper perspective.
