For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:14-19
Paul prayed that the believers in Ephesus would be strengthened with power and that they would really know God in a personal way… and have love as the signature quality of their lives. In doing so, they would apprehend just how incredible and awesome the love of God is as well. Now, that’s a prayer to pray!
Am I wanting this to be true for people around me? Is this the desire for my own life?
Oh God, I really do want to be filled to the measure of all the fullness in You. And I want it for my family and friends. By Your Spirit, please remind me to seek these things in my own life and others.
